Why companies end up owning homes
Corporate-owned inventory in Southern Nevada comes from a handful of predictable places. An employer transfers an executive and buys out the home under a purchase guarantee so the family can move on schedule. A business acquires property alongside an operating asset and has no use for it. A company winds down a local office, or takes title through a settlement, an estate arrangement or a partnership dissolution.
In each case the owner is a balance sheet, not a household. The property becomes a carrying cost the moment the company takes title, and the objective from day one is an orderly sale at a defensible number.
